Window Panels

Mosaic Window Panels are made with mosaic stained glass which are glued onto a clear piece of glass and then grouted. This way the sunlight shines directly through, creating brilliance. Using mosaics allows for greater detail in the design.

Traditional Window Panels are created using one of two methods:

  • The first uses leaded came, which creates the Leaded Glass Window. The glass is cut and then the lead surrounds each piece. When all the pieces have been leaded, they are soldered at the joints. Then the entire piece is puttied and cleaned and if needed, rebar is added for reinforcement.
  • The second method is copper foil. Each piece is surrounded by a strip of copper foil and then soldered on all sides, joining the glass pieces together.
